Mozambique offers the finest  Salt Water Fly Fishing in Southern Africa. Both shore and offshore fly fishing produce both pelagic and reef fish in abundance.

Inhaca  Island,  a short boat ride from Maputo   offers great off shore island-style fly fishing.  A fairly competent fly fisher can  can, on a good day, hook into 20 - 30 fish of good size.

Benguerra Island is another favorite destination for the fly-angler. It is close to Vilanculos which has good flight connections.

The best months to frequent these islands are October to November and January to April.

The northern coast near Pemba is Africa’s premier black marlin destination.  Fish over 500 kg have been landed here. Most of the other smaller game fish and sailfish abound in these untamed waters.

The Quirimba Archipelago, close to Tanzania, has opened up a whole new frontier for both big-game and light tackle/fly anglers. 

A wide variety of luxury & rustic lodges as well as charter boats are available. The best months are October - March.
