Port Elizabeth  to Cape Town   *Guided or Self-drive* (8 Days)


Tour Highlights Include: Addo National Elephant Park - Garden Route - Knysna - Oudtshoorn - Winelands - Cape Point - V&A Waterfront.


DAY 1   Departure is from P E Airport at 11h00. Transfer to Addo Elephant Park. Enjoy an afternoon Game Drive. We spend an unforgettable time in the park  teeming with wildlife. Addo offers viewing of some of Africa's most impressive animals, including elephant, lion, buffalo, black rhino, leopard, kudu, a great variety of other antelope species, as well as birds, plants, insects and reptiles. Optional Night Drive is available. Accommodation is in the Addo Rest camp chalets. Dinner is included tonight.

DAY 2  Early morning Game Drive. After breakfast we take the road West towards the Garden Route. Following the coastal road winding its way along river gorges, over breathtaking mountain passes and through dense indigenous forests. Our exploration of this ancient forest includes a walk, which winds its way through the tangle of trees, ferns and creepers to a massive Outeniqua Yellowwood, over 800 years old. We visit Nature's Valley, a tiny coastal settlement more than half-buried beneath towering forests. En route guests may choose between a visit to Monkeyland or the Birds Of Eden. Drive via Natures Valley and Plettenberg Bay to Knysna. Here we enjoy a boat cruise on the Knysna Lagoon to watch the sunset. DAY 3 After breakfast we visit the Knysna Forest in the Outeniqua mountains. Enjoy a short hike in the forest. We then head down to the beach for a swim and lunch. The afternoon is free for optional activities such as the Knysna Township Trail or outdoor activities.

DAY 4  After Breakfast there is time for a a look at the arts and crafts market before we depart for Oudtshoorn. Our first stop is the Cango Caves. In the late afternoon experience the Cango Wildlife & Cheetah Ranch.  Here you will be able to touch a cheetah and see crocodiles and many members of the cat family.  Overnight in Oudtshoorn at Oakdene Guest House www.oakdene.co.za or Kleinplaas Resort www.kleinplaas.co.za

DAY 5  Our first stop this morning is the Highgate Ostrich Show Farm where we are shown the development of these great flightless birds from the one kilogram egg to the 100 kilogram adult. Guests are given an opportunity to ride an Ostrich.

We continue driving along the Route 62. A lunch stop will be made at Barrydale. The drive takes us through some wonderful mountain scenery until we reach the Cape Winelands. After a visit to Stellenbosch we enjoy a wine tasting before checking in to our accommodation which is situated on a wine farm. Enjoy a sunset walk amongst the vineyards. www.knorhoek.co.za  Dinner is included tonight.

DAY 6  Continue on to Cape Town. The tour will take you to Table Mountain and some time is set aside to explore the V&A waterfront. In the Late afternoon we check into the Ritz Hotel.  www.africanskyhotels.co.za

DAY 7  Drive down to Cape Point and visit the meeting point of the Indian and Atlantic Ocean. We also visit the Penguin colony and Hout Bay where you may take an optional boat ride to Seal Island.

DAY 8  Up early and drive to the V&A waterfront where we enjoy a breakfast. The morning is free to explore the Waterfront or an optional visit to Robben Island or Table Mountain. In the early afternoon guests are dropped of at Cape Town Airport OR , for those that choose to spend more time in Cape Town, we will drop you off at your hotel.
