Hiking
 There are numerous hiking trails catering for all abilities lasting from a few hours to several days. While some trails such as the Otter Trail require advanced reservations, most require only a permit or an entry in the register. All trails have a common thread - tranquility and natural beauty. Please leave only your footprints behind.

Mountain Biking For mountain bikers the Garden Route is a tailor made paradise. The lure of the rich indigenous forests and breathtaking coastal scenery will ensure that the adventurer lingers a few extra days. There is no better way of seeing the untouched beauty of the region than to experience it by mountain bike. Visitors may hire a bike and ride through the state forests. A variety of routes cater for all levels of fitness. The trails offer a magical forest setting with sections of single track & views over the Outeniqua Mountains and Indian Ocean.

Horse Riding / Equitrailing Horse lovers and adventurers have a number of professional horse riding outfits to choose from. The horses are well schooled and the experienced guides will ensure your safety and comfort. Equitrails vary from a few hours to day trails through to overnight horse camps. Champagne breakfast trails, moonlight trails and a "Western" trail are on offer. Most of the trails meander through the indigenous forestry and lakes area. |

Canoeing The Wilderness Lakes, Knysna Lagoon and the Knysna & Keurbooms rivers offer safe yet exciting canoeing opportunities. Canoes are available for hire. There are organised excursions up the Knysna River, Goukamma and Keurbooms Rivers. An exciting option is to paddle up the Keurbooms River to spend a night in a log cabin at the waters edge.

Cruising Daily cruises on the Knysna Lagoon and Keurbooms River are an attraction not to be missed. Departures are at various times with the sunset cruise being the most popular. A cruise to the Featherbed Nature Reserve (Knysna) is a must on any itinerary.

Marine Eco Experience Whales, dolphins, seals, sharks and sea - birds are to be found in great numbers along our coast. Charter boats with experienced skippers are available to take small groups to view our marine wildlife. Plett hosts schools of dolphins for most of the year while July - November are the best whale spotting months.

Adventuring Join us on the Woodcutters Journey - an enjoyable tractor / trailor ride through the heart of the Tsitsikamma Forest or try Black Water Tubing down the Storms River. This bumpy ride on specially adapted tyre tubes will get your adrenalin pumping or accept the challenge of conquering some of the many gorges and ravines that abound in our wilderness. Experience the worlds highest bungy jump.(216 m) Sea kayaking, absailing, and paragliding are also on offer.

Scuba Diving There are a number of reefs & wrecks to explore. Operating all year round, diving schools offer training, equipment, air supply and well equipped dive boats. Protection offered by marine reserves ensures that an abundance of sea life and soft & hard corals provide a display of colour and excitement.

Angling Fresh water anglers will be delighted at the abundance of good sized Black Bass that are to be found along the Garden Route. Salt Water anglers may fish with light tackle in the estuaries. Fly fishing for saltwater species such as leervis is becoming a very popular sport. Well equipped charter boats offer deep sea fishing for light tackle game fish, bottom feeders and sharks.
